I appreciate the work
[edit]This is one of the wonderful biography articles related to Tamil Nadu that I've read in Wikipedia. I wish to congratulate the writers of this article and appreciate their hard work. Despite the fact that the article is about a politician, it is completely devoid of bias and perfectly neutral.-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 14:59, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Single source
[edit]This article relies far, far too much on a single source. One of our Five Pillars is that statements should be veriiable using multiple independent sources. I worry that this is not the case here. - Sitush (talk) 23:05, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Criminal Charges - murder Accused of dalit activist
[edit]Muthu was involved in dalit oppression and murdered dalit leader Immanuel_Sekaran
Sources provided below
Rising influence of dalits in the politics lead to a confrontation of thevar with Immanuel Sekaran. At the instance of thevar, Immanuel_Sekaran was murdered by thevars henchmen. Thevar was formally charged with the murder of Immanuel Sekaran and sent to jail. Thevar was formally released from prison by the DMK government in 1957.[1][2][3]

Article seems to falsely glorify Muthuramalingam as a political leader
[edit]Muthuramalingam was a caste leader of kallar, maravar and agamudiyar. Please mention him as a caste leader
Page 166 mentions though a maravar he became known as the leader of the entire mukula thevar community

[edit]Please do not upload images with a claim of "own work" when you didn't take the photograph etc. - Sitush (talk) 13:50, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
Arbitrary heading
[edit]How can you delete the introduction as per news source I have mentioned it Ramasamyiyer (talk) 19:02, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
- The statement is vague, subjective and inappropriate in the lead. That does not mean it cannot be referred to anywhere in the article. Who did he "lead"? Certainly not the state. What do you mean by "iconic", especially given his position as a focal point for inter-caste strife nowadays? Are you aware that "iconic" tends to engender a flattering image in the reader's mind? It might be ok to say he was a "significant figure in 20th century Tamil Nadu politics", or something similar to that, but your edits around the time that you inserted that phrase, complete with numerous photographs that seemed to breach policy, suggest to me that you are a fan. Wikipedia articles are not the place to hero worship etc, and certainly not for a divisive figure who inspires hatred among a large section of the state's community. - Sitush (talk) 02:04, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
- Oh, by the way, did he ever actually lead Forward Bloc? National Deputy Chairman is not, I think, the head of the party. - Sitush (talk) 02:09, 18 October 2018 (UTC)
Allegations of murder
[edit]Someone keeps adding this text. The matter is already mentioned in the article and the phrasing of this version is both very poor and perhaps not reflective of the sources. For example, at least one source says it was an allegation that UMT's goons killed people, not that a certainty that he did himself. It may be possible to use these sources to support the statement we already make and even to amend that somewhat but I think we need a discussion about it. - Sitush (talk) 19:46, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
Article is ok but seems to undermine the fact that Thevar had many criminal cases against him especially murder of dalit activists
Muthu Thevar was a transgendered person, or eunuch
[edit]Most of the communities in tamilnadu consider thevar as transgendered or eunuch leader Can we mention that, That was a strong point of argument between thevars and pallars
